Prayers of Thanksgiving:
- The Lord’s continued favor to us, and our children;
- Faithful prayer-warriors and supporters;
- Adding quality people to our church plant;
- The group of young people whom the Lord is sending our way;
- We have a more permanent space at the national stadium for worship and ministry;
- God’s amazing timing in all that we face. He is showing us that He is always in control;
- A wonderful and worshipful outreach event on May 21, 2018. We met many new families and are making new friends. Our Core Team has gotten to know each other better.
- Our spiritual, emotional, and physical health which we enjoy.
Prayers of Supplication:
Those in authority over us, (see 1 Timothy 2:1-4; 1 Peter 2:13-17) – pray that these officials would pass, and enforce laws that would enhance the common wealth of its citizens. Sales taxes and other fees will increase on July 1, 2018.
Spiritual Revival in New Providence and beyond; (there’s a dominant theology of works-righteousness that is being taught in many of our churches).
Several key spiritual and civic leaders with whom we have been discussing the state of the nation. One such group is a fraternity of evangelical pastors who want to see the Lord’s people grow in God’s grace.
That the Lord will continue to add to this fledgling work. We only want who the Lord wants; there are many Church-goers who are still seeking for something real, and enduring.
That He would fill us with His Holy Spirit, (see Eph. 1:18-20; 3:14-19; 6:18-20); that each attendee would live by the truth that it is not by might nor by power, but by the Holy Spirit. Grant us boldness to proclaim His Word to everyone we meet, (see Col. 4:2-4);
A Unity of will, mind, and purpose, (see Ephesians 4:1-16; 1 Peter 1:13-17, 22; 3:8-12); (Pray specifically that each attendee would become committed to “knowing and living out God’s word, and doing so together).
For our leadership development ministry which focuses on realizing the giftedness of all, especially those men who have demonstrated the ability to teach God’s word, and to lead in worship, work, and witness – (future elders and deacons).
Grant us wisdom as we seek the right musicians and worship leader(s); Grant us favor as we conduct prayer-walks and public evangelism; (We have met some very interesting people in our ministry-focus area, as well as through daily contacts with men and women throughout the island. Pray for the Lord’s favor as we meet with potential members, who include businesspersons, professionals, college students, and others).
Summer STMs, (a 6-week initiative to serve the youth in Y.E., through Reading Literacy, VBS, and Sports/Recreation); we have some 25 slots to fill by June 18.
Our radio ministry, Covenant Life, that the Lord will use this effort to saturate the islands with the Gospel of Grace; and that many listeners will become participants in serving through CLPC.
The Lord’s continued financial provision for this work.
Ministry-focus Area – Yellow Elder:
The 4 schools in that community: students, parents, teachers, administration;
Suitable office/ministry space within the community; We would love to have a “forward operating base” whereby we could help students with after-school activities, young men and women, and families throughout the day. This would afford us a ministry of “presence”.
A Gospel-driven ministry to the widows, orphans, and indigents of Yellow Elder; The Lord’s peace (shalom), and the destruction of forces of evil at work there; God’s favor as we meet and co-labor with other key people in that community;
