Team Bahamas was well represented at MTW’s recent Global Missions Conference, held in Dallas, Texas. Christiana and I were joined by John and Karen Stodghill. The Stodghill’s are MTW missionaries, and have been with us on the field since mid-February of this year. Had you visited our booth, you would have noticed numerous men and women who represented Team Bahamas at the GMC.
Thank you all very much for your continued support! Thank you Will and Sarah Jane, Houston and Betsy, Ed and Susan, Bob and Becky, Mike and Lou, Mark and Connie, Tommie and Becky, Robert and Cindy, and Mike and Linda. These brothers and sisters organized us into a team that handled everything from “A-to-Z”. Thanks for all the thought, planning, and hard work that went into creating such an attractive booth, as well as creating a roster of people to man that booth.
We also want to express a big “Thank You” to the Guzak’s – Kristin and her mother, Dawna. Kristin had just returned to the Metroplex after having spent six weeks in Nassau, serving the Lord in so many different ways. She helped in so many ways; especially with creating our digital presentation that captured some the ways in which the Lord has been using Team Bahamas in our ministry focus area on New Providence.
We were also excited to have Antoan Richardson attend the conference. Antoan is a young Bahamian who recently retired from the Major Leagues. He was very impressed with his visit, especially having seen how Mercy Street has been able to develop its ministry to the West Dallas community through sports and academics. This two-pronged approach is very near and dear to Antoan’s vision for young Bahamians. Visit his website at https://projectlimestone.org/ and listen to his story. Antoan is more than a partner in ministry; the Lord has been using him to help Team Bahamas get to know more young Bahamian leaders.
Christiana and I were “giddy” with pride as we got to worship and fellowship with our children – Andrew, Jason, Mindy, and Jamila. We even got to sing in the mass choir for the opening night, and were so grateful to the Lord as we watched our first-born lead worship at the Conference.
We even got to spend an evening at the hotel, reconnecting with our precious posterity. Thank you Lord for every opportunity that You have given to us to be with those whom we love so dearly.
We got to reconnect with so many brothers and sisters in Christ from our sending church, PCPC. That was most memorable, especially my former “fraternity” of Pastors! (I miss our times of praying together, my brothers).
From the moment we landed in Dallas, Christiana and I felt the love of God so strongly from so many of our friends and family. We were treated like family by our host family – they have prepared a “place for us” whenever we come to Dallas. (This year we had to travel there for several very important reasons). Christiana and I are grateful to the Lord for our sister, Nancy. Will and Sarah Jane hosted us, and treated Team Bahamas to a feast that can only be described as superb. We had a great time of fellowship – great food, great conversations, and good singing. Garry and Anita Chambers also attended and gave a brief and encouraging update about MTW how loves to work with partners.
We ended the evening in a time of prayer – trusting that the Sovereign Lord would lead and guide the entire Team Bahamas in its collective efforts in seeking to extend the Transforming Presence of YHWH’s kingdom to the Bahamas, through Bahamas Reformed Mission, to the residents of the Bahamas and our mutual family in the USA.
